To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring a dedicated Imaging Scientist on a permanent full-time capacity.

Purpose of the Role:

This role is focused on the development of imaging and wearables data analysis solutions that address our pharma clients’ needs. The job holder manages the development of analysis pipelines required on individual customer contracts or defined through IXICO’s innovation roadmap which involves leading the scoping of new solutions through interaction with internal and external stakeholders, pro-active input into the development plan and execution of the development plan to assure timely completion and deployment where needed.

The job holder furthermore manages the delivery of pharma-sponsored R&D projects (e.g., retrospective data analysis) as required. Holding overall responsibility for the delivery of assigned analysis solutions or R&D projects may involve the definition, assignment, and management of sub-tasks within the wider Imaging Science team.

As the development of novel analysis solutions evolve from Proof of Concept (PoC) to a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), the job holder is required to work closely with the Research Engineering team to assure early-stage R&D seamlessly feeds into a production-ready solution. The job holder is a nominated expert in at least one image acquisition/ analysis domain and provides ‘in-house’ consultancy in that domain into pre-sales activities and study operations as needed. The role furthermore involves external science dissemination activities in line with IXICO marketing strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead scoping of analytics solutions for ‘Product X’ deliverables for pharma clients in nominated projects:
    • Engage with internal project teams and pharma partners where needed to define requirements for novel analysis solutions.
    • Based on defined requirements, identify suitable technical solution to assure streamlined project definition and delivery of identified requirements.
    • Plan expected development effort and associated timelines.
    • Design development and validation plans to meet technical and quality requirements.
  • Provide technical description of data analytics solutions into proposals, charters, other study documents as well as marketing material.
  • Lead on development of analysis solutions for imaging to address Product X requirements and innovation roadmap:
    • Lead on timely completion of development plans.
    • Execute development plans and assure on-time delivery.
    • Work with other members of the team (Associate Imaging Scientists, R&D Systems Developer) to assure full CSV documentation to allow efficient handover to deployment team.
    • Perform scientific validation of results as part of user acceptance testing.
  • Define and roll-out endpoint QC work instructions for novel analysis solution.
  • Perform analysis of imaging dataset with novel biomarkers and datasets, generating reports summarising insights
  • Assess potential analysis methods and image viewing applications.
  • Incorporate, test, and validate external analysis methods and tools (i.e., image viewing applications) that will be required for new analysis workflows.
  • Lead delivery of pharma-funded R&D projects:
    • Provide project management and overall planning.
  • Define tasks for junior team members (R&D Image Analyst, Associate Imaging Scientist): execution of analysis pipeline, data QC, data management.
  • Actively stay engaged in relevant developments in imaging and wearable data analytics in IXICO therapeutic areas.
  • Based on planned development activities, propose topics for external scientific communication:
    • Prepare and present scientific abstracts at target conferences.
    • Actively support Product Marketing with scientific content for IXICO website and other channels.

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

Essential

  • University qualification in a scientific or analytical discipline.
  • Doctorate in a relevant subject or comparable research experience and a track record of relevant publications.
  • Expertise in at least on imaging modality and relevant analysis
  • Strong computer skills and good programming experience in python and a Linux environment
  • Innovative and inciteful with a good ability to problem solve.
  • Good oral and written skills to enable effective communication at all levels within the company.
  • Good Understanding of anatomy and its presentation within various imaging modalities.
  • Good research skills (assimilating papers and other sources of technical information).
