As our great team continues to grow we are looking to hire a Senior Scientific and Technology Engineer in a full-time capacity to help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials.

Overview:

The successful candidate will be working with our existing industry leading image analysis technology as well us helping us to bring our latest deep learning solutions to the market. A keen interest in medical image analysis, machine learning, deep learning and software development is therefore highly desirable.

This role also requires a strong academic background with good understanding of the scientific method and the importance of the quality of the results we send to our pharmaceutical and biotech clients.

Reporting to:

Director of Technology

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensure accurate and complete delivery of a wide range of automated medical image analysis techniques, including emerging deep learning approaches at scale for large imaging clinical trials
  • Integrate, implement, deploy, validate and support IXICO’s neuroscience technologies
  • Work closely with the Director of Technology on best practices, new tools and technologies.
  • Support the data management, project management and science teams to ensure accurate data transfers to our pharmaceutical and biotech clients.
  • Provide advanced support of image analysis workflows
  • Work closely with science, technology and development teams to undertake software analysis, estimation, programming, testing and debugging.
  • Participate in an Agile Scrum team and promote continual improvement processes.
  • Create and maintain necessary documentation in compliance with required industry and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the innovation process.
  • Working with Business Development and Operations to ensure that development activities are aligned with customer needs and what would require new development
  • Participating in the internal and external audit process
  • Providing technical knowledge and input to collaborator and client meetings
  • Owning the production analysis platform working with IT to ensure sufficient compute capacity to meet our analysis needs
  • Working closely with Quality to ensure efficient, up-to-date and practical SOPs and WIs for team’s activities.
  • Provide cover and stand in for Director of Technology, including cross-functional meetings, as required on a rota.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:

Essential

  • Masters/Postgraduate degree in a technical discipline e.g. Computer Science/Computer Vision/Medical Imaging.
  • Academic or commercial experience in programming using scripting languages including Bash and Python.
  • Experience of Linux/Unix command line.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of Database concepts and technologies (RDBMS/SQL).

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of medical image analysis.
  • Knowledge of neuroimaging.
