As our business continues to grow we are now looking to hire a full-time Image Analyst in our Reseach & Development team.

As a member of this you will be exposed to high profile projects in the field of clinical trials (e.g. Dementia, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, psychosis). We are looking for candidates who have a background in Computer Science, Medical Imaging, Biomedical Engineering, Neurosciences or related. 

Purpose of the Role

The R&D Image Analyst  provides support to Imaging Scientists and other members of the Imaging Science team in delivering novel analysis solutions for deployment in a clinical trials environment. This includes the management and documentation of the computer system validation (CSV) process, execution of defined validation plans and first-line support of deployed analysis solutions. In addition, the role holder may perform images quality checking, image analysis and data management activities within the Science team.


  • Manage CSV process and documentation in close collaboration with lead Imaging Scientist and cross-functional team (Quality, Project Management, Science)
  • Undertake programmatic testing of novel analysis solutions
  • Serve as first-line support for queries on image analysis solutions in production
  • Lead on the identification of solutions for fails in analysis solutions and, working with the lead Imaging Scientist, propose and implement suitable fixes
  • Record and manage identified problems to support continuous improvement of deployed analysis solutions

The R&D Image Analyst may also be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Performing image analysis, such as whole brain delineation and analysis endpoint QC, after suitable training has been completed.
  • Performing data labelling such as identification of pathology within regions and contextualisation of data.
  • Qualitative review of images (e.g. MRI, PET) identifying and labelling data for future analysis.
  • Perform data management and augmentation for large datasets for use in development of artificial intelligence pipelines.
  • Develop tools to assist in management and transformation of large datasets
  • Providing feedback on improvements in the image QC, analysis and site management processes.  
  • Assist in reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) e.g. QC pass rates and analysis throughput.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (e.g. imaging, life sciences, computer science) or equivalent technical or analytical experience.
  • Experience with a programming language such as Python
  • Ability to prioritise competing tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and in a highly regulated environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced in the use of Linux operating system

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience with image processing techniques
  • Familiarity with virtualised environments such as Docker
  • Familiarity with a number of medical imaging modalities and clinical trial process
  • Experience interacting with large datasets through SQL or Mongo DB
