To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring an experienced Group Financial Accountant in a full-time.

Purpose of the Role

  • Delivery of accurate, complete, and timely Group and Company financial accounts and reports to the business on a monthly, half-yearly and annual basis.
  • Delivery of accurate, complete, and timely Group corporation tax and VAT submissions (including calculation of the R&D tax credits in line with tax legislation).
  • Review of HR submissions to financial reporting such as Payroll, bonus calculations, share options and sales commission.
  • Provide technical accounting leadership and ownership of the financial accounting reporting system
  • Own AIM financial reporting requirements such as the annual report, interim statements, and relationships with Group external auditor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the financial accounting of the Group, including coordination of the month end close activities.
  • Responsible for the preparation and consolidation of the Group's monthly management reporting pack, delivering high quality information on a timely basis.
  • Build strong relationships with operational/functional teams, to drive financial accuracy and completeness across the Group, providing regular support and advice as appropriate.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in the standardisation of reporting and operational efficiencies both within Finance and across other functional departments.
  • Managing financial element of employee incentive schemes: share options & sales commissions, in support of the HR function.
  • Responsible for preparing and delivering the Group's Annual and Interim Report, subsidiary financial statements (including coordination across the business and with external agencies).
  • Responsible for the UK corporation and VAT tax filing obligations and preparation and submission of R&D tax credit calculations along with coordination with the Group tax advisors.
  • Responsible for the administration of the US entity, including accounts preparation, intercompany transactions and tax submissions as well as ad-hoc tasks such as setting up IXICO presence in new states.
  • Manage and update the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes required by IFRS, AIM rules and other applicable regulatory standards into the Groups financial accounting and reporting process.
  • Develop and maintain a strong internal control environment, ensuring progress made in respect of audit findings.
  • Manage the interaction and relationship with the Group’s auditors, tax advisers and other professional firms.
  • Review and manage the financial elements of the Group payrolls, the bonus and sales commission schemes and the management share option incentive scheme.
  • Oversee and review Grant finance in respect of claim submissions and periodic audits.
  • Participate in the monitoring and enacting of Treasury activities; Management of currency risk (including enacting and accounting for currency hedging), liaising with the bank relationship manager and providing back up to the accounts assistant in preparing payments using the online bank system.
  • Owner of the Group financial reporting system, seeking opportunities to improve its use to increase the efficiency of the finance (and wider) function(s).
  • Project work related to the broader business development plan, business systems implementation, equity financing, business acquisitions.

Key Deliverables:

  • Deliver timely, high quality & insightful business reporting, including monthly management accounts, monthly project revenue and gross margin reporting and ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Deliver the Group’s Annual & Interim Report to the agreed schedule.
  • Business partnering across the organisation, including supporting updates to the Group Pricing tool.
  • Project work related to the broader business development plan, business systems implementation, equity financing, business acquisitions.

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

Essential

  • ACA qualification
  • 1+ years post-qualification experience
  • Up-to-date technical skills within accounting and reporting
  • Confident preparing IFRS statutory accounts for a listed company
  • Working knowledge and appreciation of UK taxation – R&D tax credits
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Proficiency in accounting software packages
  • Track record of implemented process improvements within a Finance department.
