We are excited to announce that IXICO has been selected as one of two finalists for the SEHTA Healthcare Business Awards in the “Partnership with the NHS” category for MyBrainBook – a partnership project with IXICO, the Health Innovation Network, Music Mirrors and Mindcare Dementia Support.
The SEHTA awards ceremony will take place in front of up to 400 clinicians on the 19th January 2016 at the Lancaster London Hotel. This will be part of the Kent Surrey and Sussex EXPO and alongside the KSS AHSN Awards – at which IXICO have also been shortlisted for the “Enhancing Innovation through Collaboration” category.
MyBrainBook is a platform that is designed to encompass all aspects of a person’s life, including their support network, preferences, life memories and interests, as well as medical needs through emergency and support planning.
The product establishes a digital personalised and emergency care planning tool driven by patient needs and goals, which is easily accessible and updateable by healthcare professionals, patients and carers. The information is dynamic, driven by the patient and can be modified as needs progress.
Social isolation is reduced through the use of social networking, where users can maintain contact with family and friends. MyBrainBook allows those caring for the patient (often remotely) a way to keep in touch sharing photos and stories. Where together they can build an online ‘scrapbook’ of favourite pictures, music, and life story timeline to help facilitate cognitive stimulation and reminiscence activities.
The winner of the award will be presented with their award by Dr Eliot Forster, CEO of Immunocore (Biotech of the Year, SCRIP Awards 2015), Founder Board member of SEHTA and Executive Chair, MedCity. The awards ceremony will take place the afternoon on the 19th January.
