To help us deliver our medical image analysis solutions to large clinical trials we are hiring a Business Development Manager in a full-time capacity.

Purpose of the Role 

The Business Development Manager will proactively identify new sales opportunities in the company pipeline to support the development of new business contracts in to support the company’s double digit growth ambitions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Sales Responsibilities

  • Support and contribute to the Business Development teams agreed annual sales tactical plan to secure new trials with international clients: working to achieve the team’s agreed annual new sales bookings target to support the company’s three-year revenue growth plans.
  • Qualify and handle all inbound leads from potential customers.
  • Perform Research and Analysis of assigned territory, working with the relevant Business Development Director to stratify and prioritise potential new customers.
  • Identify and request support to qualify new business opportunities.
  • Develop contacts with new clients to secure additional RFP’s and RFI’s to support greater account penetration across multiple trials and therapeutic areas.
  • Ensure technical support requirements from functions across the company are fully utilised to increase likelihood of client success.
  • Scheduling a requisite number of face-to-face meetings and/or remote /on-line client presentations to open new business development opportunities with new accounts.
  • Work with Business Development Director, Operations, Science and Product teams to ensure effective client meetings.
  • Identify the competitive landscape for each qualified opportunity and seek support from Senior colleagues on the best approach to mitigate competitive threats. Request joint sales business calls as required.
  • Coordinate with the more senior BD colleagues and Proposals and Contracts manager to support the response to, and timely completion of RFIs.
  • Perform smooth hand-over of opportunities progressing to RFP stage to the assigned Business Development Director
  • Assist the team in providing accurate pipeline forecasting and quarterly review information.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge of client decision makers, influencers, and procurement office requirements.
  • Research accounts and identify new opportunities for IXICO by monitoring clinical pipeline/molecule developments and relevant communication/press.
  • Attend international Industry Conferences as required by the company; includes pre-meeting planning and post meeting reporting and follow up.
  • Up to 20% travel, including international travel.

Tracking and Reporting Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage SalesForce.com database with all sales activity for accounts allocated, ensuring all data are accurate, relevant, and always up to date.

Qualifications and skills required for the role

  • Undergraduate degree in a health sciences or business.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Evidence of good time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate tenacity, proactivity, and initiative.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Self-driven.
  • Previous Sales experience with proven success or knowledge of product would be advantageous.
